North Island and Northland IOM Champs
Very good winds from the west for the North Island and Northland IOM Championships enabled 27 races to be held with good fare sailing
Ian Vickers from North Shore again showed is superiority cleaning up the regatta with 14 first places
Last years runner up Graham Cross also from North Shore again showed he is a force to be reckoned with again finishing in the same position with Brett May from Gulf Harbour in third place
Race officer Darrel Hopkins ran a splendid regatta that was enjoyed by all
2016 National IOM Radio Sailing Championships
Ian Vickers won the regatta with his new V 10 He was consistently pushed throughout the racing by Rob Nelson .
Conditions were difficult for race officer Paddy Simms to set a fair course on the first two days with rain washing out the racing on the Saturday morning .
On Sunday the weather settled down to 10 to 20 knot westerly and everyone settled into having some great racing
