Club Racing 4-6-17

Nice 5-12 knot southerly breeze made for some great racing in the ten boat fleet . Nathaniel Deverell showed that his time away from One Meter sailing did not slow him down recording the overall win after 8 races.

Seven boats took part in the light southerly breeze .Roddy Booth nearly lapped every boat but unfortunately his stay broke so he had to withdraw Doug kane was in the lead for some time however Des Hendry nipped him in the end .

Northland Champs 6-7th May

Congratulations to Rob Nelson for a well-deserved win in the Northland champs!

The regatta was held in very light, shiftly north-east breeze which was a big challenge to all competitors and the race committee. Doug Kane did a wonderful job as race officer enabling to keep the regatta moving despite the very light conditions.

14 races were completed and all 20 competitors seemed happy with how the regatta went.

Unfortunately, there was an error when the race results that were presented, affecting the second and third places. Roddy Booth is second place overall, and Brett May is now third. There were a few other minor changes, see results below.

2017 Club Champs

Roddy Booth again claimed the trophy for the Club Champion

24 races were held over 3 weekends of sailing with Roddy outclassing the field with 19 first places

Only one point separated 2nd and 3rd placing Doug Kane and Des Hendry

Club Racing 15-1-17

Good strong B rig conditions and some boats coming out with C rig at the end of the day’s club racing. Great close racing  all day with Des sailing his V8 Rat being top of the leader board after 8 races
