Club racing Totara North 22-9-17

It was a challenging day for all concerned. Wind was top end of A rig and choppy water with current made sailing testing. Several collisions when boats were out of control downwind took boats out during the racing. Dean Lutze  was top of the leader board after eight races with some very consistent and skillful sailing

Teamer

As time goes by we can easily loose track on where we are sailing because of the unavailability of Lake Manuwai. Teamer is a programme for sports clubs and it has a way of reminding sailors what events are coming up.

Race Coordinator Doug Kane  informs me what is happening week to week enabling me to send out the reminders by text message or email

So please use this link  https://teamer.net/p/rpVFkTDmOYZnvgTWklV3  to request to join the team or answer any teamer text or email that invites you to join

There also is a link to teamer on the menu bar at the top of the website

Cheers

Next Club Race Stanners Road 24-9-17

Six sailors trialed the the lake at Stanners road last Sunday and all agreed that it is a good venue to continue club racing until lake manuwai opens again! Video

John and Doug have done a great job in getting permission from  local landowners at the lake for us to use it for model boat sailing.

Please park and rig your boats up the access driveway 119 Stanners Rd as shown on map below

Race officer is Alistair this Sunday as per schedule

Next race 24th September

With Lake Manuwai still closed some sailors are trialing a lake on Stanners road this Sunday . It’s also possible to run a good race course at Totara North . We will let you know here what the venue will be for the next club race to be held 24th September . Although the Whangaroa venue is good we are  finding the wind wind can be a little unstable for fair racing
