This will be a test event to see if this is a good venue for future regional regattas. Last time we raced in a nice south east breeze with eight boats and all enjoyed the racing and the beautiful surroundings at Lake Waikere
We have booked the former ski club for saturday night so boats can be stored overnight
There are a few different options to set up the race course when the wind is in different directions. The lake is close to the sea and this will help produce steader breeze. This is a deep water lake that is clean and clear with no weeds.
There is a trophy for this regatta that Dougy won last time and will be doing everything to ensure he keeps his hands on it!
This will be a good practice event for the Nationals that will be held a few weeks later in Hamilton
Great campsite nearby for those who want to use campervans or if you book quick there is accommodation at the resort nearby. Plenty of places to stay at Dargaville 20 minutes away
